Den internasjonale konferansen PasswordsCon eller bare Passwords 2014 skal holdes i Tronheim, Norge 8. til 10. desember 2014. Passwords konferansen ble startet i Berger, Norge i 2010. Grunnlaget for konferansen var misnøye med gjeldende autentiseringsløsninger, med tanke på pålitlighet og brukervennlighet.

Konferansen holdes to ganger i året på to kontinenter. Passwords 2014 i Las Vegas markerte den syvende globale konferansen. Deltakelse på konferansen har doblet for hver gang over de siste tre årene, og det forventes minst dobbelt oppmøte i år også.

Hensikten med konferansen er å forsøke å belyse de utfordringene som eksisterer med dagens autentiseringsløsninger, samt få et vennlig miljø og en felles kommunikasjonsplattform for den akademiske verdenen, sikkerhetseksperter, hackere og lignende fra hele verden.

Konferansen er sposet av FRISC forskningsnettverk. Den lokale organisasjonen er ved Institutt for telematikk ved Norsk teknisk-naturvitenskapelige universitet (NTNU), Trondheim, Norge.

The international conference PasswordsCon or just Passwords 2014, is to be held in Tronheim, Norway the 8th to 10th of December 2014. The Passwords conference was first started in Bergen, Norway in 2010. The motivation for starting the conference was dissatisfaction with current authentication methods with regards to robustness and usability.

The conference is held twice a year across two continents. Passwords 2014 in Las Vegas marked the 7th global event. Participation has doubled for the past three years, and nothing short of that is expected this year as well.

The aim of the conference is to attempt to shed some light on the challenges that exists in today’s authentication solutions, as well as providing a friendly environment where the academic world, security experts, hackers and alike can meet and communicate from all across the world.

The conference is sponsored by the FRISC research network. The local organization is by the Department of Telematics at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU), Trondheim, Norway.
